🥀_KHUSHAAL'S POV_🥀

The moment I pushed open the door to our room, I didn't expect my heart to stumble the way it did.

There she was , my wife. Sitting quietly on the edge of the bed, wrapped in a soft, baby pink silk suit that clung delicately to her frame. Simple. Elegant. Ethereal.

Her hair fell over her shoulders in loose waves.

But it wasn't her beauty that froze me in place it was her eyes.

She looked up at me... so softly.

So innocently—Like she was trying to say something to me without opening her mouth.

I took a step forward.

She didn't move.

But her gaze shifted more curious, more desperate.

And then I saw it. Tears welled up in her eyes , I kneel down in front of her , she still looked down her hair covering her face .

I hesitantly—softly touches her cheeks and —made her look at me and when she looked at me her red watery eyes made my heart clenched.

"what happened little rabbit, my sweetheart why are you crying tell me"

I asked her ..

I felt the warmth of her tears on my skin, fragile and aching.

Seeing her like this my throat felt dry, I take out a low, sad sigh and ask her again and this time her lips parted trying to say .

MAYA - I..I am s..sorry, I overreacted today. you were sad.. b..because of me.

"who said that to you? " I asked her again ..

I felt happy but sad at the same time because she thinks I am feeling sad because of her , she cares about my feelings.

But the cause that made me feel low is she was crying again because of me...

MAYA - cry voice Don't you? Eklavya bhaiya said to me that you were hurt because I did like that and he told me the reason why you were angry with your grandfather.

"And why was it?"

I asked her— looking straight into her cute eyes with hopes, she was looking cute in her baby face, red nose, she wiped off her tears and made a pout .

I swear I want to hug her right now and kiss her so badly , her pout is making me feel weak.

I was staring at her pout but then she starts talking and says something which made me feel so many kinds of emotions.

She said...

MAYA - your grandfather said bad about me and you confront him and take my side . No one takes my side except my mother but , you did and I behaved like a dumb and hurt you.

I will never do that again! Sorry...

I couldn't control myself anymore and took her in my embrace , her warmth made me feel relieved .

Her hands wrapped around me tightly, she snuggled more and I kissed her top of the head deeply.

I have no words to say because I can't listen to her saying bad words to herself.

She is innocent, pure to be hurt by someone and I will not let that happen to her .

🥀_AUTHOR'S POV_🥀

Next morning,

The beaming of sunlight filtered gently through the curtains, the room lightened up giving a shine to both sleeping figures , khushaal eyes flicker at the moment and he opened his eyes when he tried to get up , he got pulled down and he looked at the person just to get a smile on his face.

Maya was sleeping peacefully hugging khushaal her face was on his chest and her hand hugging his waist, her both leg hugging khushaal's right leg tightly.

Without disturbing her sleep , he turned around her side to face her and peck her forehead and caressing her head softly , while doing he was admiring her face quietly, no frowned lines , button nose, small pinkish lips, natural blush on her cheeks this made him chuckled and eyes gleaming in satisfaction.

The golden sunlight kissed her face making her shine more , but that light made her stir and open her eyes .

Her eyes fell on khushaal her lips parted but didn't say anything just, the eye contact was saying everything to each other .

Her doe eyes and his almond eyes were everything, both had such a beautiful moment this morning.

Maya starts to blink again and again and when she realizes the position she sits up on the bed and adjusts her duppata while khushaal sighs tiredly and sits up and rests his head at the headrest.

MAYA - w..what t..time is it?

KHUSHAAL - It's 7 in the morning. Why?

MAYA - Wo m..mujhe ta..tayar hona hai or phir eklavya bhaiya k..ke saath mandir Jana hai.

( That I..I have to get r..ready and then I have to go to the temple w..with Eklavya bhaiya)

KHUSHAAL - Eklavya kyu? Me leke jaunga tumhe mandir , me tumhara pati hu .

(Why Eklavya? I will take you to the temple , I am your husband.)

MAYA - Uhh.. o-ok b-byy..

She suddenly jumps up and scurries to the bathroom, slamming the door shut behind her.

Khushaal blinks, confused by her reaction, a small laugh escaping his lips as he shakes his head.

One hour later, maya was ready wearing an elegant, mesmerizing suit and was admiring herself in the mirror while jumping a little - little on her toes and turning right and left side again and again just to admire .

But —the real admiration was doing someone else, behind her khushaal was looking at her silently.

Her cuteness made him chuckled but enough for maya to listen and she flinch and look behind her .

Her eyes widen as she felt embarrassed, khushaal understood the situation and he went in front of her and patted her head.

KHUSHAAL - you are looking beautiful "little rabbit" , don't be embarrassed by that . Let's go now!

MAYA - nods.

They both left their room and went to the living area and there they got stopped by someone.

Eklavya stops them showing his palm and starts doing Michael Jackson steps, khushaal gives him a boring look while maya gives an opposite expression - happy look.

Eklavya wink towards them, while khushaal shakes his face in disbelief.

EKLAVYA - Hey there maya baby, where are you going? Teasingly

KHUSHAAL - What the h...

Khushaal gets interrupted by Maya's voice and tells him that they are going to the temple .

While— Eklavya gives a teasing smile to khushaal but, khushaal gives him a don't care look.

Khushaal grabs Maya's wrist to walk off but again Eklavya stops him and this time khushaal eyes expression said something else to him like 'he will eat him alive' but, eklavya ignores his look and that time his grandmother and his mother arrives.

SUMITA - Eklavya why are stopping them again and again let them go na!

EKLAVYA - Maa dekho na me bhabhi ko mandir le jaane wala tha lekin inke pati ne wo haq mujhse cheen liya .

( Mother see I was going to take my sister in law to the temple but her husband takes the right from me)

MAYA - w..wo mene hi manjuri di thi..

( i..it was I who approved it)

EKLAVYA - Dramatically bhabhi aapne abhi toh aap bhaii se dar rahi thi phir asaa kya kiya unhone??

Teasingly

( Sister-in-law that time you were scared of him, what did he do? )

Maya looked towards khushaal while , khushaal was so done with Eklavya he didn't care to give him any answer he grabbed her wrist and said 'lets go'.

At that time —Eklavya secretly winks to maya and she puts her palm on her lips and giggles softly.

And they both went to their car and respectively went to their destination that is 'temple' .

After they went , three of them were about to go to their respective work but , a voice stops them to further move ...

"namaste samdhan jii"

a heavy voice of a woman heard in their ear three of them turned behind.

Eklavya was the one to make a disgusted face after seeing that woman but— his mother and grandmother smiles and joined their hands and welcome that lady .

The lady walks inside wearing a smirk in her face .

MEANWHILE...

Maya and khushaal arrive at the temple and before khushaal can open the gate maya already open the gate and get out of the car and run towards the temple excitingly.

Khushaal observe her each move and chuckled at her childish behaviour and followed her .

🥀_KHUSHAAL'S POV_🥀

The way she was smiling, giggling and walking around with her cute little steps is making her more mesmerizing and cute .

I was admiring her behind her , she was in her own world it was the first time— I see her smiling brightly that makes my heartbeat faster .

She takes the necessary things for the temple and we both go inside the temple .

She takes her duppata and covers her head , she was looking so beautiful at that time there are no words to be enough for her .

She looks at me and blinks cutely while —I raise my eyebrows, she takes her duppata and makes my head cover with it too.

I was—speechless , she giggled and joined her hands while, the aarti was going on and I was admiring her all the time, every second.

After aarti ends , pandit jii places diya in front of us to take blessings from it.

And— I stretch my hand a little and circle around the diya and place my hand over Maya's head , giving her the blessing first .

And then..

When, I was —again about to do that..

Maya did the same thing and place her soft hands on my head and face and give me warmth of her hands and blessings.

"tum dono ki jodi hamesha salamat rahe, itna pyaar karne wale jodo ko bhagwaan kabhi dur nahi karta hamesha saath rakhta hai, jeete raho!"

pandit ji said to us and he goes away .

( May your bond always be blessed, may God never separate such a loving couple and always keep them together, live long!)

MAYA - shall we go now?

"yeah sure , let's go!" I said to her and we went back to our car and headed to our home.

After 20 minutes of driving we finally reach our home and I get out of my car .

Before Maya could open her side gate, I opened the gate for her and she looked at me with her large cute doe eyes .

She gets out of the car and shut the door back and we both take our first step and walk towards the entrance .

We entered the living area and the laughter of women takes our attention, we both look there—

And —I was the one to roll my eyes while seeing that woman .

That woman was Maya's stepmom.

I look at maya and find her staring at her blanking with no emotions but, her fingers turn into a fist.

I shake her a little and she comes to her senses and looks at me..

"you okay sweetheart?"

I asked her while she just nodded with a small smile and went there where my mother , grandmother and her stepmom were present .

While I go back to my room

to have a nice shower.. while taking steps to go to my room .

I was having a bad feeling and looked at maya for the last time before going to the room..

while —she was talking to my grandmother.

I sighed and went to my room...
